 This was our 2nd year riding in the Atlanta MS-150 in Pine Mountain, GA.
In the photo above, Chris is riding east on Hwy 18 near White Sulphur Springs. On Saturday we rode in a 61 mile circle north of Pine Mountain through Troup and Meriwether counties. On Sunday, we rode 64 miles south through Harris county.
We stayed in a very nice Bed and Breakfast in Pine Mountain - The Chipley Murrah House.

 
Chris fishing at the Port St. Joe marina. We only caught one, but in the Summer when it's hot, the marina is a good place to cool down.

Jamie is having too much fun. We went to Milwaukee in July to visit Chris' family and had a wonderful time. We stayed in Steve and Heidi's condo on between the river and the lake and rode around on their scooters.

Tribute to The Ohio State Buckeyes

My daughter graduated from Alabama Dec 15.

We rode in the MS150 Sept 9 and 10 thru the cities around Callaway Gardens. It was a beautiful weekend albeit a bit hillier than we expected. We rode with Team Coca-Cola. There were 120 of us, 1070 riders in all. This picture was taken Sunday morning after we had already ridden 63 miles the day before. I don't know how Chris is still smiling.... It was very hilly for a boy from Northwest Florida, who lived in Louisiana for seven years and now resides along the Chattahoochee River. I've really got to find some hills and ride them.

We bicycled from Port St. Joe, FL to Apalachicola Sunday morning. It is pretty-much a straight 24 mile stretch of highway seperated by 7 turns, 92 degrees and 95% humidity. Click on the picture above to see a larger picture and determine if Chris is smiling.

Floyd Landis won the 2006 Tour de Georgia today by finishing in the peleton on Stage 6 in Alpharetta. Tom Danielson of Discovery Channel was second - just 4 seconds behind. Last year it was Danielson 1st, Landis 3rd. I took this picture on West End Parkway during one of the six finishing circuits. Click on the photo for a larger picture.

The Chief Ladiga Trail is a 33-mile trail beginning in Anniston Alabama and terminating at the Alabama-Georgia state line. The trail becomes gravel for about 8 miles west of Piedmont to the border where it connects with the Silver Comet Trail of Georgia.

The West Orange Trail is a 19 mile paved bike trail north of Orlando that runs from Winter Garden, Florida to Apopka. Find out more by going here.

It's pretty quiet on Saturday morning when there's no football. This photo was taken Saturday Feb 2 around 9am. That's the stadium in the background. I thought the three buildings architecture was interesting.

Fort Walton Beach

The Riverwalk runs from Coolidge Park in North Chattanooga south across the Tennessee River via the Walnut Street Bridge (the longest pedestrian bridge in the world), alongside downtown, northeast through the Bluff View Art District, past the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, by the industrial plants of Amnicola Highway, through the Amnicola Marsh, and terminates at the Fishing Park immediately below the Chickamauga Dam. The Riverwalk is very clean, beautifully landscaped and very wide. Read more here.

The Silver Comet Trail (more...) runs from Smyrna, GA to the Alabama line, about 60 miles. Currently the Trail is not continuous from its start to the Georgia-Alabama State Line, It is paved from Smyrna to Rockmart, Georgia, a distance of 42 miles. From there Westward to Cedartown, there is no paved Trail, but it is possible to ride on scenic back roads to Cedartown. From Cedartown to the Georgia-Alabama state line, the Trail is again paved for 8.25 miles.

Looking North up the Chicago River from the Dearborn Street bridge. Across the river on Dearborn and Kinzie Street is the Westin hotel, House of Blues and Harry Carey's restaurant. There are few bike routes in the city, but the savvy cyclist will be rewarded if he can get to the lakefront and ride the 20 miles of the Chicago Lakefront Bike Path. The most used portion is from McCormick Place to Belmont, which includes Miegs Field Airport, the Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium, Field Museum, Grant Park, Navy Pier, Oak Street Beach, and Lincoln Park. There are several entrances and exits including some tunnels that will take you across (or under) Lakeshore Drive. At the north end, I exited near the Northwestern campus rode around there and at nearby Loyola.

The food court at Quincy Market in Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Boston. Our hotel was ~ 5 blocks away and Quincy Market had a Starbucks at the front entrance. The vendors here must have 100 different cuisines here from all over the world. We ate lunch and snacks here often.

We got to watch a criterium taking place along Lake Michigan. There is a riverwalk suitable for cycling from the art musuem around Veterans Park - The Milwaukee Lakefront Trail runs along the lake and turns in towards town a few blocks.
